Analyze engineering, business and/or other business intelligence issues for application to Symantec solutions; and/or provide operational support in the development and implementation process of computer software applications, systems or services. Design, install, upgrade, administer, monitor, patch, and clone Oracle 9i/10g/11gR2/12c databases in RAC and non-RAC environments. Optimize system/database operations and resource utilization and performs system capacity analysis and planning. Monitor and support quarterly Oracle patches/upgrade and database configuration across environments. Responsible for database performance tuning at system and application levels, for dev and production databases. Develop stored procedures and other database objects to implement some business logics in the database. Design and manage database security, roles, and profiles. Design and implement disaster recovery plans. Develop scripts for database task scheduling, monitoring and maintenance. Support all non-production databases including installation, upgrade, backup, recovery, database refresh, and multi-language support. Design, install, configure and monitor Golden Gate Replication 11gR2/12c. Design, Install, configure and administer OEM Grid control 12c. Configure monitoring and setup alerts using OEM Grid Control 12c. Proactively tune the performance of database. Provide support and direction to developers with trouble-shooting and performance tuning as needed. Maintain and develop backup/recovery process for Oracle databases for online and offline backups and disaster recovery. Create monitors and alerts for user sessions, concurrent processes, table extents and locks for production and test/development systems. Act as a database project leader for critical, time driven, visible projects. Integrate/collaborate with application development and support teams on various IT projects. Participate on weekly on-call duties on rotational basis. Follow change management process and participate in related meetings. Create and maintain database architecture and standards following Oracle Best practices for physical structures, logical databases, user management. Follow the existing processes for SOX/PCI databases. Take ownership on primary database as senior DBA and lead by example. Mentor onsite as well as offshore team members. Build and Document DBA standards, processes and educate team members. Provide L3 support for critical DBA related issues. DBA initiated Application Driven projects. Employer will accept Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering or related technical field and 2 years of work experience in job offered or 2 years of work experience in a computer-related occupation. Job requires: 1.Design/manage/administer Oracle servers on cluster and non-clusters & Oracle databases on RAC and non-RAC – 24 x7 environments 2.Oracle Golden Gate replication technology 3.Oracle Golden Gate 11g, Veridata and Monitoring tool or Golden Gate 12c plug-in in design, installation, implementation, setup alerts and administration in production 4.Oracle database architecture in a RAC and Data Guard configuration 5.Performance and query tuning 6.Patching, cloning, Enterprise Manager Cloud /Grid Control 12c, security, RMAN backup and recovery procedures 7.Linux, AIX, Solaris and Unix Shell scripting 8.SDLC processes for database management 9.Handling / Leading projects and work across various teams in Organization
