Plan, direct, or coordinate the operations of the Technology Support Cloud Platform. Duties and responsibilities include formulating policies, managing daily operations, and planning the use of materials and human resources. Use hands-on background in Technology Support of Cloud Platform and Products offered by the cloud platform engineering team at Symantec to lead a technical support team. Actively provide 24 x 7 monitoring of cloud platform products. Respond to Production alerts and restore issues within the agreed SLA with Business Units. Write tools and automate maintenance of CPE services using bash, python, go, javascript. Perform Systems Administration of platform servers ( Redhat, Ubuntu ). Respond to Incidents on across cloud platform. Restores service within agreed SLA. Review RCA for hybrid cloud, private cloud, networking, big data and data center operations. Respond and support requests from Business Unit Users of cloud products and networking. Guide cloud Support team on processes and operational efficiency. Triage requests received from users and allocating the work amongst the team members. Manage conflicts & escalations between team members and / or requesting teams. Enable team members to be able to service requests from users. Manage on call calendar for the team ( this is to support the 24 x 7 schedule ). Coordinate and ensure that the vendor / suppliers of the network devices. Ensure that the activities by the operations team is executed per plan if there are impacting changes performed by vendors. Provide oversight and also hands on response to Incidents created by users. Manage Proactive response to various alerts across networking devices. Build processes for the overall team to be able to respond and execute in a predictable, consistent & trackable manner. Employer will accept Master’s degree in Computer Science, Business Administration, Engineering, Management Information Systems or related technical field and 2 years of work experience in job offered or in a computer-related occupation. Alternatively, employer will also accept Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Business Administration, Engineering, Management Information Systems or related technical field and 5 years of work experience in job offered or in a computer-related occupation. Any suitable combination of education, experience or training is acceptable. Job requires: 1. Responsible for Technology Development or Support of enterprise production environments 2. Designing and supporting the systems operations of any large enterprise or cloud platform 3. Designing Application gateways, Reporting Systems and Cloud technologies 4. Acting as a client facing role supporting & onboarding users to enterprise products 5. Responsible for operational activities of global team, 24 x7 for enterprise products 6. Providing Support and Tooling for building new Cloud Platform ( openstack, aws, elk stack, containers, linux admin ) and Big Data Products 7. Leading a team of cloud support personnel across ( engineering or networking or data center ) functions 8. Working with or leading a team to provide site reliability to cloud products 9. Optimizing and supporting the Operations process ( Change Management, Incident Management and Problem Management ) for CPE’s cloud products in production. CPE’s cloud products includes a. Hybrid cloud – AWS and Container technologies like Docker and Kubernetes b. Private cloud – Openstack c. Networking support for ( Backbone , Switches , Firewalls , Load balancers , Routers ) across multiple datacenters d. Big data – Analytics platform ( Hadoop ) e. Data center operations 10. Provide Operational Training which is custom to CPE’s platform to the team of support engineers skilled in operating cloud ( AWS, Docker, Openstack ) and networking technologies ( Juniper Switches and Router, F5 Load Balancers )
